Product Application Engineer
Role Summary
Senior applications engineer supporting ODM/OEM customers for AMD Data Center products. Responsible for scoping, hands-on debugging, and resolving multi-disciplinary issues across CPU, GPU and system level to enable customer product integration and validation.
Work closely with software, firmware and hardware teams to enable customer use-cases, perform board bring-up, and provide technical training and documentation to customers and field teams.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer enablement, debugging, and technical support for server platforms.
- Support ODM/OEM/customers to deploy AMD Data Center products on server platforms, ensuring stability and performance.
- Scope, analyze and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, BIOS, BMC, CPLD, driver and system-level issues.
- Provide on-site technical support for testing, validation, and performance optimization.
- Bring up customer boards with Linux kernel and device drivers; prepare and deploy Linux distro packages integrating components.
- Collaborate with software/firmware development teams and ecosystem partners to enable customer software/FW and feed patches/fixes upstream.
- Author technical documentation, test reports and application notes; deliver training and enablement for field teams and customers.
- Serve as subject-matter expert for BIOS/firmware to FAEs, customers and partners.
- Travel to customer sites as required and work in multi-site, multi-cultural environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and customer-facing experience; preferred items noted.
- Must-have: Proven experience supporting ODM/OEM customers and deep understanding of the ODM ecosystem.
- Must-have: Proficiency in Linux environments, including shell scripting and automation.
- Must-have: Strong C programming skills and familiarity with x86 assembly.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with board bring-up, kernel/device drivers, BIOS/firmware and embedded software debugging (hardware and BIOS perspective).
- Must-have: Practical troubleshooting across hardware and software stacks and ability to scope work and drive closure.
- Must-have: Familiarity with CPU system architecture and x86 hardware platforms.
- Must-have: Customer-facing experience and willingness to travel.
- Nice-to-have: Prior application engineering role experience; experience working across multiple sites and cultures; strong communication and training skills.
