Process Integration Engineer (SM1)

Role Summary

Drive process and device integration for advanced analog and CMOS technologies in the SM fab at Sherman, TX. The role works across ATD, process engineering, test, product development, quality and manufacturing to qualify, transfer, and improve technology nodes and product flows.

This position focuses on process characterization, parametric performance, design of experiments, data analysis and cross-functional leadership to enable manufacturable, high-performance devices.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role typically requires about 5 years of semiconductor factory experience with advanced CMOS and analog process integration.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include technical ownership of process/device integration and cross-functional execution.

  • Lead characterization, data analysis, DOE and simulation to drive process and device improvements.
  • Own technology parametric performance and drive parametric Cpk improvements.
  • Investigate parametric test outliers and scrap; determine root cause and define corrective experiments.
  • Create and review product flows; develop short flow and test chips as needed.
  • Partner with RET/OPC teams to validate and improve mask data preparation.
  • Support transfer, qualification, and manufacturing of advanced analog and CMOS nodes.
  • Coordinate with process, integration, product, quality, reliability, packaging and test engineers to meet device targets.
  • Plan and drive schedules, meet parallel deadlines, and communicate project status to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Minimum ~5 years hands-on experience in a semiconductor fab focused on advanced CMOS devices (90 nm and below) and analog technologies.
  • Proven experience in process integration and device-level troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and process characterization methods.
  • Experience with parametric testing, statistical analysis (Cpk), DOE and experimental design.
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis for yield/parametric issues and define corrective plans.
  • Experience collaborating across RET, process, product, quality and test teams.
  • Strong project planning, schedule management, verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in advanced analog integration and short-flow/test chip development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build stakeholder relationships and lead cross-functional technical discussions.
  • Ability to ramp quickly on new systems and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Master's degree required (electrical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science or semiconductor-specific areas such as solid-state physics, applied physics or quantum mechanics). Ph.D. is preferred. (Job also notes "Degree Level: Master's Degree".)
