Process Integration Engineer (BEOL)
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Process Integration Engineer (BEOL)
Role Summary
Work on process integration and yield improvement for back-end-of-line (BEOL) semiconductor manufacturing at the Hiroshima Fab. Lead root-cause analysis, cross-process investigations, and drive corrective actions across process, equipment, manufacturing and quality teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level β expects approximately 3+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor process development, process integration, or yield improvement.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include identifying and resolving yield and defect issues, coordinating cross-functional investigations, and delivering process improvements.
- Lead cause analysis and corrective actions for yield degradation, defects, and parameter variability.
- Plan and execute cross-process investigations spanning CMP, etch, lithography and other relevant processes.
- Integrate and analyze electrical characteristics, inline process data, and defect data to drive decisions.
- Use statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, failure analysis and data analysis techniques to identify root causes.
- Coordinate and communicate with process, equipment, manufacturing and quality teams to implement solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and deliver results to schedule.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional abilities; candidates need not meet every item.
- 3+ years' practical experience in semiconductor process development, process integration (PI), or yield improvement.
- Hands-on experience performing root-cause analysis for yield, defect, or variability issues and driving improvements.
- Experience solving problems that span multiple process steps and disciplines.
- Proficiency with SPC, FMEA, failure analysis and data-driven problem solving.
- Experience integrating and analyzing electrical, inline and defect datasets.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines with self-direction.
- Business-level English communication or a strong willingness to acquire it.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with BEOL/back-end-of-line process technology.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical/electronic engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field. (Posting notes that applicants do not need to meet every listed condition.)
