Job Title

Process Integration Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Integrated Quality and Reliability team to develop and execute integrated reliability methodologies, defect reliability assessments, technology certification strategies, and statistical quality systems for advanced semiconductor process technologies. The role partners across technology development, design, manufacturing, and product teams to assess readiness, mitigate reliability risks, and support technology certification and yield improvement.

This position supports Intel Foundry silicon technology development and operates under a hybrid work model based at the Hillsboro, OR site.

Experience Level

Mid-level / Experienced hire. The role requires at least 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include technical execution of reliability certification and cross-functional collaboration to drive technology readiness and product quality.

  • Develop and execute reliability and defect certification strategies (HTOL, ELFR, ELF modeling, acceptance criteria, metrics).
  • Design and run experiments to characterize reliability, validate models, and investigate failure mechanisms.
  • Perform reliability risk assessments and provide data-driven recommendations for certification decisions.
  • Build and apply statistical models to evaluate defectivity, latent reliability risk, and process capability.
  • Collaborate with process integration, device, design, manufacturing, and product teams to resolve reliability challenges.
  • Drive statistical quality methodologies (MTS, CPK, process monitoring) and develop automation and data-analytics solutions to improve engineering productivity.
  • Communicate technical findings, certification status, and risks to engineering and management stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred technical qualifications. Education requirements are listed separately below.

  • Must-have: At least 2 years of semiconductor industry experience; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and manufacturing fundamentals.
  • Must-have: Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with semiconductor reliability engineering and technology qualification (HTOL, ELFR, TDDB, BTI, HCI, electromigration).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in advanced CMOS process integration, defect reliability modeling, failure analysis, and physical characterization techniques.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with statistical quality systems (MTS, CPK), DOE tools (JMP, SAS, R), and analytical tooling.
  • Nice-to-have: Data analytics, machine learning, automation experience and programming skills (Python, SQL); experience with AI-assisted data analysis is a plus.

Education Requirements

Required: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Reliability Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
