Job Title
Process Engineer (Clean Tech)
Role Summary
Support Fab Operations by sustaining and improving wafer process performance, statistical process control (SPC), and process qualifications to meet quality, cost and productivity targets. Work across process, equipment and manufacturing engineering to troubleshoot yield excursions, qualify new processes/equipment and drive continuous improvement.
Role involves data analysis, process window studies, mentoring junior engineers, and leading small cross-functional teams to resolve process and yield issues.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. Guidance indicates approximately 1β3 years of relevant semiconductor wafer process engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include process control, troubleshooting, qualification and improvement activities within a fab module.
- Analyze SPC and ESPC charts (SPACE, PR rules), annotate out-of-control conditions and monitor Cp/Cpk performance.
- Perform data analysis on split lots, DOE, engineering tests and sort yield using tools such as JMP and Klarity ACE.
- Create and maintain SPC charts, DCOP and SLDB entries using PROMIS (Si-View); manage recipe uploads and ensure recipe content compliance via RMS.
- Raise and manage PCRBs, follow qualification plans, analyze data and close corrective actions; support MRB, 8D and ECN/spec updates.
- Startup and qualify new processes and equipment; coordinate equipment acceptance and perform R&R studies.
- Identify chronic process issues, establish improvement programs, write/maintain procedures and work with cross-functional teams to implement fixes.
- Coach and train junior engineers on toolsets, troubleshooting, decision-making and risk assessment.
- Lead improvement projects and process window studies to reduce OOC events and improve Cpk and tool matching.
- Collaborate with equipment and manufacturing engineers to meet module objectives and drive uptime/OEE targets.
- Conduct self-audits and update documentation to meet quality standards (e.g., TS16949) where applicable.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and work conditions; nice-to-have items listed separately.
-
Must-have: 1β3 years semiconductor wafer process engineering experience; strong problem-solving skills; practical experience with SPC, DOE and statistical analysis; familiarity with tools such as JMP, Klarity ACE, PROMIS/Si-View and RMS; ability to manage PCRBs and standard corrective actions; effective communication and teamwork; available to work Normal and Swing shifts.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience leading yield-improvement projects, equipment qualification, cross-fab benchmarking, and familiarity with quality systems or audit processes.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, Microelectronics or Materials Engineering as stated in the posting.
