Job Title

Principal Verification Engineer (ISP, Display, Video)

Role Summary

Lead verification for Arm Systems Media IP including Image Signal Processors (ISP), Display processors and Video codecs. The role focuses on specifying, developing and improving verification environments and methodologies to ensure high-quality IP that integrates into Arm compute subsystems.

Work with cross-functional engineering teams to drive verification strategy, increase automation and mentor other engineers.

Experience Level

Senior / Principal level β€” senior engineering role (principal). Typical experience expectation: senior engineer with significant verification and leadership experience (generally 7+ years).

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities are ownership of verification strategy, environment architecture and execution for complex IP or multi-unit hierarchies.

  • Take verification ownership of unit-level, multi-unit hierarchy or overall IP (ISP, Display, Video).
  • Architect verification IP and complete verification environments (SV-UVM-based).
  • Review design changes and assess verification impact and complexity.
  • Analyze simulation and verification data (including applying ML/data-science techniques) to improve bug discovery and debug efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cross-IP process and methodology improvements to raise verification efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams for high-quality system integration of IP.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level verification engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful candidates.

  • Proven experience with constrained-random verification and ownership of complex verification environments.
  • Deep knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM; experience developing reusable, scalable verification code and testbenches.
  • Strong scripting skills to develop and support verification flows and automation.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with tools and processes for building and completing verification flows.
  • Prior technical and/or team leadership experience.

Nice-to-have:

  • Team leadership and mentoring experience (formal people leadership desirable).
  • Multiprocessing microarchitecture experience and familiarity with bus protocols (e.g. AMBA APB/AHB/AXI).
  • Experience in Formal Verification testbenches.
  • Domain experience in video codec, ISP or display projects and knowledge of image-processing algorithms (tone mapping, noise reduction, motion estimation, transform coding).
  • Experience with Functional Safety processes for Automotive (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
  • Experience with Continuous Integration flows for verification.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
