Job Title
Principal Verification Engineer (Digital IP Verification, G4)
Role Summary
Individual contributor responsible for leading end-to-end verification of complex digital IPs and subsystems to achieve first-pass silicon success. Works cross-functionally with Architecture, Design, DFT, Mixed-Signal, and Validation teams across sites.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal) level. Recommended 10β15 years of hands-on experience in IP or subsystem verification for complex, multi-million-gate designs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, executing, and improving verification efforts for IPs and subsystems.
- Lead verification planning and execution to ensure first-pass silicon quality for complex IPs/subsystems.
- Design and maintain scalable verification environments, testbenches, and regression flows.
- Define and track verification quality metrics across planning, execution, and closure.
- Drive coverage closure, defect prevention, and a zero-defect mindset through process adherence.
- Analyze and improve verification flows for efficiency, predictability, and quality.
- Collaborate with Design, DFT, Architecture, and Validation teams on verification issues and integration risks.
- Support pre-silicon and post-silicon validation and debug activities as required.
- Contribute to methodology evolution, automation, and technical innovation within the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role; good-to-have items follow.
Must-have:
- 10β15 years of hands-on IP or subsystem verification experience for large designs.
- Deep experience with HVLs such as SystemVerilog/UVM and proficiency in C/C++.
- Solid knowledge of HDLs (Verilog/VHDL) and testbench architecture, development, and debugging.
- Experience with industry simulators (VCS, NCSim, ModelSim, Questa) and regression management.
- Expertise in assertions (SVA), functional coverage, test planning, and feature traceability.
- Familiarity with microcontroller architectures (ARM) and interconnect protocols (AHB, AXI, AMBA).
- Experience with memory subsystems (SRAM, Flash, DDR) and memory controllers.
Good-to-have:
- Exposure to formal verification, gate-level simulation, emulation, and pre-silicon validation.
- Domain knowledge in automotive, graphics/vision accelerators, high-speed serial interfaces, or networking (Ethernet).
Education Requirements
