Principal Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the MCU/MPU Engineering Digital IP team responsible for pre-silicon verification of IP modules and subsystems used across automotive, IoT, networking and RF products. The role focuses on verification planning, building UVM-based verification environments, and collaborating with hardware, firmware, software and system architecture teams.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 10+ years of experience in IP/subsystem verification.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification delivery and technical ownership of IP or IP subsystems.
- Define and write IP verification plans from requirements and architecture documents.
- Architect, develop, debug and maintain UVM-based verification environments for RTL simulation.
- Create testcases: stimulus, assertions; run simulations and regressions across RTL, power-aware RTL, gate-level, FPGA and emulation platforms.
- Collect and analyze functional and code coverage; drive metric-driven verification.
- Collaborate with HW, FW, SW and system engineering teams to resolve functional issues and validate integration.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience in testbench design and development using UVM for IP/subsystem and SoC verification.
- Advanced knowledge of Verilog and SystemVerilog; experience with C/C++ and shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of functional and code coverage and metric-driven verification.
- Experienced with directed and constrained-random verification methodologies and assertions.
- Experience debugging designs pre- and post-silicon using simulation and lab platforms.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with formal verification methods and scripting in Perl, TCL or Python.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
