Principal Timing Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead timing (STA) and/or test (DFT) design efforts for MCU/MPU products in the Embedded Processing Product Group. Work within a global backend team across Japan, China, Germany, Vietnam and India to improve product quality, performance and cost.
This role will drive backend design activities, manage external design partners, and apply modern EDA flows and automation to accelerate next-generation semiconductor product development.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical execution and team/partner coordination:
- Perform timing signoff and static timing analysis (STA) using tools such as Synopsys PrimeTime or Cadence Tempus.
- Develop and validate DFT/test design using tools such as Mentor/Siemens Tessent or Synopsys Modus.
- Lead backend design activities to meet performance, power, area and cost targets.
- Manage and coordinate with external design partners and internal stakeholders.
- Establish and improve design flows, scripts and automation (including use of advanced EDA/AI techniques where applicable).
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and reviews within the design team.

Must-have and preferred qualifications for successful candidates.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge or hands-on experience in timing design (STA) or test design (DFT).
- Nice-to-have: Experience using LSI/ASIC EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens/mentor ecosystems).
- Nice-to-have: Experience managing design teams or supervising external design partners.
