Principal Test Development Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qorvo’s High Performance Analog (HPA) test engineering team in Richardson, TX to develop and integrate RF test software and systems supporting characterization and validation from DC to mmWave.
The role focuses on test automation, measurement capability improvement, and cross-functional test development to support product characterization and design validation.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Professional). Minimum of 8 years of RF testing experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing test solutions, automating test processes, and supporting characterization and validation.
- Design and integrate test solutions for RF characterization from DC to mmW frequencies.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain test stations and equipment.
- Support product characterization during development, including defining characterization plans.
- Expand and maintain test automation framework and test coverage.
- Implement and contribute to software quality assurance (SQA) and early-test methodologies.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional engineering test development projects.
- Create test software documentation, procedures, and reports.
- Support design validation testing for RF product lines.
- Contribute to SQL database development for test data and workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum of 8 years experience in RF testing.
- Strong knowledge of RF test hardware and measurement techniques.
- Proficient in API development for test automation and in automated test design, development, and maintenance.
- Proficient programming skills in Python, C++, and C#; solid object-oriented programming knowledge.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; able to operate independently.
Nice-to-have:
- Load-pull measurement experience.
- Experience with SQL database development for test/data management.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret clearance; position requires limited travel.
Education Requirements
BS degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
