Principal Technical Leader for Automotive Systems Power
Role Summary
Senior engineering leader responsible for technical direction and design excellence across analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit development for automotive power systems. The role covers the full product lifecycle from requirements and architecture through design, verification, silicon validation, and production readiness.
Based in Munich and collaborating with global cross-functional teams to drive execution, improve methods and tooling, and mentor engineering staff.
Experience Level
Senior β 12β15+ years of analog and/or mixed-signal IC design experience, including technical leadership of complex semiconductor products and cross-functional programs.
Responsibilities
The role leads technical decisions, execution, and capability building across multiple programs and teams.
- Provide global technical leadership and set engineering direction across multiple programs.
- Lead end-to-end design execution: requirements, architecture, design, verification, silicon validation, and production readiness.
- Translate requirements into architectures that balance performance, power, area, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Conduct technical reviews and enforce best practices to ensure engineering excellence and high-quality documentation.
- Define and drive verification, test, and validation strategies to align simulation, silicon, and system-level behavior.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, verification, test, validation, quality, reliability, applications) worldwide.
- Advance methodologies, automation, and AI adoption to improve engineering efficiency, traceability, and workflows.
- Mentor engineers and influence organizational strategy, roadmaps, and engineering practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 12β15+ years of experience in analog and/or mixed-signal IC design with responsibility for complex semiconductor products.
- Deep expertise across the full product lifecycle: system architecture, design, verification, validation, DFT, test, and production readiness.
- Proven ability to make system-level trade-offs addressing performance, power, area, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills; experience collaborating with global, multicultural teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering processes, tools, and automation.
- Demonstrated track record of driving verification/test strategies and aligning simulation results with silicon behavior.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees (MS/PhD) or equivalent advanced qualifications are preferred.
