Job Title

Principal Systems Validation Engineer 6 Data Center GPU System Stress

Role Summary

Drive system-level stability and stress validation for AMD's data center GPU platforms. Work with architecture, silicon, firmware, software, and test teams to define validation strategy, develop stress test content and automation, and resolve complex HW/FW/SW integration issues to enable reliable product delivery.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. Posting does not specify a years-of-experience requirement but expects extensive, senior technical experience in system validation and platform bring-up.

Responsibilities

Lead and implement system stress and stability validation strategies, test content, and automation across silicon-to-system stacks.

  • Define and evolve system stability and stress validation strategy, coverage models, and automation frameworks.
  • Design and develop system-level stress tests and execute validation at scale.
  • Investigate and debug complex system issues across hardware, firmware, and software stacks.
  • Collaborate with validation, firmware/software, silicon design, and verification teams to deliver robust test plans and infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership on system-level integration and sequencing to ensure stable configurations under maximum stress.
  • Drive tooling and process improvements, including AI-assisted validation workflows, at-scale environments, and data-driven quality methods.

Requirements

Looking for hands-on engineers with deep system-level validation and debugging experience and strong scripting/programming skills.

  • Proven experience developing validation architectures, methodologies, automation frameworks, and infrastructure for complex data center or semiconductor products.
  • Extensive experience with SoC/board/platform-level debug, delivery, sequencing, and optimization of validation efforts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and history of process improvement and enabling early critical coverage.
  • Hands-on programming/scripting skills (examples: C/C++, Python, Perl, Ruby) and working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Deep understanding of GPU, SoC, and server platform architectures, post-silicon bring-up, and system-level validation for AI/ML or large-scale data center platforms (preferred).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (as stated in the posting).
