Principal System Architect
Role Summary
Senior technical leader in the Central Technology Systems Group responsible for shaping SoC platform architecture for embedded devices. The role translates product and technology requirements into platform-level hardware, software, tools and verification direction and coordinates across architecture, IP and engineering teams.
Experience Level
Senior / Principal level — typically 7+ years of relevant experience in embedded SoC or system architecture.
Responsibilities
Own and influence platform architecture and roadmap for Arm-based embedded SoCs, collaborating across hardware, software and product teams.
- Develop technology roadmaps with engineering leadership and product planning.
- Translate requirements into platform architecture spanning hardware, software, tools and verification.
- Coordinate architecture and core technology teams to deliver platform and feature roadmaps.
- Evaluate architecture proposals and IP features; align stakeholders to a common technical vision.
- Represent the company in customer meetings with technical credibility and incorporate feedback.
- Create high-level architecture specifications for platforms (primarily Cortex-A CPUs, Mali GPUs; Cortex-M in supporting roles).
- Design experiments and analyses; develop or drive development of simulators, models, profilers and other tools to answer architectural questions.
- Communicate technical results clearly to engineers, architecture peers, and senior technology and business leaders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, behaviors and domain experience.
- Proven track record in embedded SoC architecture and platform definition, including experience with Cortex-M and Cortex-A CPU families.
- Deep technical expertise and credibility in embedded SoC systems.
- Ability to drive progress in ambiguous environments and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong collaboration, influence, communication and interpersonal skills across engineering and product organizations.
- Experience designing analyses, experiments and tools (simulators, models, profilers) to validate architectural decisions.

Nice to have: prior experience working within the semiconductor industry.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronic/Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field is required. Master’s or PhD is advantageous.
