Principal Synthesis Engineer
Role Summary
Work on physical synthesis and optimization for ASIC/SoC designs within Qualcomm's hardware engineering team in Bangalore. Deliver synthesis netlists, timing closure, and low-power implementation while collaborating with design, DFT, and PD teams.

Responsibilities
The role's core responsibilities include:
- Develop and apply physical synthesis methodologies using industry-standard tools.
- Create and validate timing constraints for synthesis and STA; drive timing closure and pipelining optimizations.
- Perform timing closure for multi-clock-domain designs and MCMM synthesis.
- Implement low-power design flows using UPF and power-optimization techniques such as clock gating.
- Automate flows and analyses with scripting (Perl, Python, TCL).
- Coordinate with design, DFT, and PD teams to deliver netlists and validate timing constraints.
- Manage ECOs, support formal verification, and ensure high-quality delivery metrics.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience in physical synthesis, STA, and timing closure on complex SoC designs.
- Experience with MCMM synthesis and multi-clock-domain optimization.
- Familiarity with low-power implementation flows and UPF.
- Scripting proficiency in Perl, Python, or TCL for automation.
- Experience handling ECOs and supporting formal verification activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across design, DFT, and PD teams.

Education Requirements
