Principal Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop core components of the Perspec toolchain, including modeling language, constraint solving, scripting, GUI, data collection and debug tools. Deliver design and implementation of new capabilities and integrate with other product components.

Collaborate with R&D, product validation, field engineers and customers while working in an Agile environment.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Implement and maintain data structures, scripting interfaces, and language-related features (OOP, AOP) for the product.
• Design and implement new capabilities and enhancements.
• Integrate components with other tool subsystems and ensure interoperability.
• Collaborate with R&D, product validation, field engineers, and customers to resolve issues and gather requirements.
• Work within Agile processes and participate in code reviews and debugging activities.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong software design and implementation skills.
• Self-learner and creative, able to propose unconventional solutions when appropriate.
• Fluent English with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work across functions and geographies.
• Familiarity with Unix environment is an advantage.
• Operate with integrity and raise quality standards while collaborating with peers and management.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (B.Tech / B.E.) or Master's (M.Tech / ME) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field as stated in the posting.
