Principal Software Engineer

Develop and maintain C/C++ components of an HDL-language compiler and its runtime support as part of a cross-geography engineering team. The role focuses on front-end compiler work for SystemVerilog and VHDL, compiler performance, and infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include implementing and improving compiler front-end and related runtime systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain C/C++ code for HDL compiler front-end (SystemVerilog, VHDL).
- Implement language reference model (LRM) support and related parsing/semantic analysis.
- Improve compiler performance, scalability, and build/runtime infrastructure.
- Integrate and collaborate with runtime, simulation, and synthesis environments.
- Participate in code review, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Work collaboratively across geographies with product and engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and desirable qualifications.
- Proven experience in C/C++ software development for compilers or similar systems.
- Hands-on experience with HDL languages, especially SystemVerilog and VHDL.
- Experience in compiler front-end design, parsing, semantic analysis, or intermediate representations.
- Experience optimizing software for performance and resource use.
- Strong debugging, testing, and software engineering practices.
- Good communication and ability to collaborate on distributed teams.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to RTL simulation, synthesis, or runtime integration.
