Job Title

Principal SoC RTL Engineer

Role Summary

Owner for pre-tapeout quality and RTL development of digital SoC modules on MCU platforms. Drive architecture, microarchitecture, and RTL delivery for complex IP and SoC blocks while coordinating across verification, FPGA prototyping, and physical design teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing RTL, ensuring pre-tapeout quality, and collaborating across teams to meet timing, power, and validation goals.

  • Develop Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL for complex IPs and SoCs.
  • Define architecture and microarchitecture for SoC modules.
  • Identify, evaluate, select, and integrate 3rd-party IP.
  • Work with verification and FPGA teams on test planning, prototyping, and debug.
  • Collaborate with physical design to meet timing and power targets.
  • Run and act on quality checks (LINT, CDC, RDC) and manage waivers or fixes.
  • Support silicon bring-up and system validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and behaviors for the role.

  • Expert knowledge in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting SoC IPs and subsystems.
  • Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design.
  • Experience integrating and evaluating third-party IP.
  • Practical experience with LINT, CDC, and RDC flows and remediation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with verification, FPGA, and physical design teams to close timing and power.
  • Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up and validation activities.
  • Ability to estimate impact, plan and lead implementations, and guide cross-functional technical programs.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with MCU platforms and low-power design techniques.
  • FPGA prototyping experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field, plus 20 years of experience as stated in the posting.
