Job Title

Principal SoC Performance Architect

Role Summary

Member of the Central Technology Systems group defining SoC and subsystem architectures and technology roadmaps across premium mobile, infrastructure and automotive sectors. Focused on system- and IP-level performance analysis to inform architecture and design decisions.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires at least 4 years of SoC architecture or software performance analysis experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define SoC and subsystem performance and analysis requirements.
  • Collaborate with system architects, system designers, IP teams and analysis teams.
  • Engage with specialists across modelling, RTL, FPGA, silicon and software domains.
  • Explore and challenge the limits of IP and system performance capabilities.

Requirements

Must-have skills and competencies:

  • Minimum 4 years relevant SoC architecture or performance analysis experience.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture: cache hierarchy, memory access efficiency, multi-core architecture and key performance metrics.
  • Analytical mindset with a demonstrated drive to analyse and improve performance.
  • Able to work independently and within small teams; proactive and confident problem solver.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and effective at communicating both detailed and high-level concepts.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with pre-silicon platforms (models, RTL simulation, emulation or FPGA).
  • Experience with the Arm architecture.

Education Requirements

University degree (or equivalent practical experience) or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related field.
