Job Title
Principal Silicon Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead validation strategy and execution for next-generation UWB SoCs and semiconductor products from silicon bring-up through production release. The role combines hands-on validation, complex system-level debug, automation and cross-functional technical leadership across silicon, firmware, hardware, RF and software domains.
Experience Level
Senior level β typically expected to have 12+ years of relevant semiconductor validation, SoC bring-up, characterization or equivalent advanced education and experience.
Responsibilities
Drive end-to-end validation activities and provide principal-level technical leadership.
- Define and lead validation strategies, plans, methodologies and coverage for SoCs and subsystems.
- Own silicon bring-up, functional validation, performance characterization and production readiness.
- Architect and improve automated validation, characterization, data analysis and test frameworks.
- Develop embedded and host-side software to exercise silicon and accelerate debug.
- Lead root-cause analysis across silicon, firmware, hardware, RF, software and system layers.
- Partner with IC design, architecture, firmware, software, systems, product engineering and test teams to resolve issues and improve yield and quality.
- Influence architecture and design by identifying validation risks and system-level trade-offs early in the lifecycle.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews and drive improvements in validation infrastructure and processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items listed separately.
- 12+ years leading silicon validation, SoC bring-up, semiconductor characterization, embedded/firmware validation, RF or system-level debug, or equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
- Proven ability to define validation strategies, develop test plans and execute complex technical programs across the product lifecycle.
- Strong experience in debug and root-cause analysis spanning silicon, firmware, hardware, RF and software domains with solid analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Hands-on development of automated test frameworks, validation infrastructure and data analysis tools.
- Experience developing embedded and host-side software to support validation and debug.
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience owning semiconductor or SoC validation programs; familiarity with RF/wireless technologies and production correlation.
- Preferred: proficiency with Python, LabVIEW or similar automation/data-analysis tools; RF measurement, mixed-signal and board-level bring-up experience; FPGA/pre-silicon validation and statistical characterization techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is specified. The posting also allows an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
