Principal Silicon Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on functional validation and verification of PCIe IP across block, cluster, and full-chip levels for Microsoft's silicon used in cloud infrastructure. The role sits within Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) and focuses on delivering robust verification environments and regressions to support tapeout-quality designs.

Experience Level

Senior / Principal level. The posting specifies senior experience equivalencies (PhD+3 years, MS+6 years, BS+8 years) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on building and executing verification environments and driving issue resolution.

  • Perform functional validation of PCIe IP at block, cluster, and full-chip scopes using UVM/C testbenches and Verification IP (VIP).
  • Develop test plans and write unit tests for functional verification.
  • Create and maintain regression suites; run regressions, analyze failures, and lead timely debug and resolution.
  • Build and improve verification methodologies, automation, and tools to increase validation efficiency.
