Job Title

Principal RF Application Engineer

Role Summary

Join the RF Semiconductor team in Istanbul to lead phased-array product integration and application engineering for silicon-based RF solutions. The role partners with global product and design teams to develop reference designs, demo hardware, and system-level customer solutions.

Work includes antenna and phased-array design, system architecture, lab evaluation, and close customer engagement to enable product adoption.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience; less experience may be acceptable with a relevant Master's or PhD.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hardware and system design, customer support, and technical leadership:

  • Design and develop antennas and phased-array systems using silicon RF components.
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts for demo boards and reference designs, and author user guides.
  • Evaluate products and application scenarios using bench equipment and lab testing.
  • Define and optimize system architecture, budgets, and line-up for complex integrations.
  • Develop advanced application tools, reference boards, and integration software.
  • Support customer visits and sales engineering activities to assess product fit.
  • Perform competitive analysis and provide strategic product insights.
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation and training to internal teams and customers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted when applicable.

  • 10+ years in product applications engineering, customer technical support, or related RF engineering roles.
  • Experience in antenna design and phased-array systems.
  • Proficiency with EM simulation tools and principles.
  • Experience with system line-up and budget simulations.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout for RF/demo boards, and lab evaluation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and ability to produce technical documentation.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, quick learner, collaborative, and results oriented.
  • Willingness and ability to travel ~10% for customer engagement and support.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's or PhD preferred. Related technical degrees in RF, microwave, or similar fields are acceptable; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
