Principal Reliability Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development and execution of test solutions for advanced power semiconductor products in the Quality Assurance Laboratory. Provide technical direction for ATE program development, qualification down-point testing, failure validation, electrical troubleshooting, and characterization.
Manage and mentor a small team of test technicians and operators while coordinating cross-functional reliability, failure analysis (FA), and NPI efforts to support product qualification and release.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires 10+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on test engineering, leading investigations, and overseeing lab operations.
- Develop, debug, optimize, and maintain test programs and hardware solutions across multiple ATE platforms.
- Execute qualification down-point testing, engineering characterization, and failure validation.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and data analysis to identify degradation trends, parametric shifts, and failure signatures.
- Support test hardware development: load boards, interface boards, sockets, and instrumentation.
- Integrate and operate handlers for ATE testing and coordinate multi-platform test setups.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and oversight for test technicians and operators.
- Prioritize workload and ensure timely completion of qualification, characterization, and FA support activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and test capability.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills for satisfactory performance in this role.
- 10+ years' experience in semiconductor test engineering.
- Proven experience developing and debugging test programs on multiple ATE platforms.
- Strong electrical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; able to drive complex investigations independently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong organizational and project-management capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead through influence while contributing hands-on technically.
- Experience working across global, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (required for this role).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
