Principal Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

The Principal Reliability Engineer will lead new-product qualification and reliability testing for advanced semiconductor products, working within Marvell's Reliability Engineering team in the Quality organization. The role coordinates cross-functional teams and test labs to plan, execute, and report reliability qualifications and supplier-managed tests.

This position may require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to export license review.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Lead and execute reliability qualification activities for new products.

  • Define qualification strategy and prepare qualification plans.
  • Create and maintain product qualification schedules and status reporting.
  • Specify qualification hardware requirements and coordinate design/verification with test labs and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage execution of HTOL, HAST, TC, ESD, LU and other stress tests per plan.
  • Manage external reliability suppliers and subcontractors for qualification testing.
  • Support vendor qualification and evaluate design/manufacturing/material changes.
  • Drive failure analysis as needed to complete qualification and reliability evaluations.
  • Prepare product qualification reports and related documentation.
  • Support customer quality and reliability information requests.

Requirements

  • Must-have: 5+ years of product qualification and reliability testing experience for semiconductor products.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication (CMOS/BiCMOS) and packaging technologies, and strong project planning skills.
  • Must-have: In-depth knowledge of stress testing methodologies (HTOL, HAST, TC, ESD, LU) and industry standards (JEDEC, AEC, Telcordia).
  • Must-have: Experience with HTOL stress pattern bring-up, test execution, and qualification hardware design; hands-on HTOL setup and data scoping.
  • Must-have: Experience with high-speed analog devices (drivers, TIAs) and performance testing.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with reliability data statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
  • Nice-to-have: Good understanding of FMEA and risk assessment processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical/Materials Engineering, or a related engineering field (posting cites >10 years related professional experience with a bachelor’s). Preferred: Master’s and/or PhD (noted as desired) with ~5+ years of related experience. No specific certifications were listed; equivalent experience implied by senior experience expectations.
