Job Title

Principal Quantum Integration Manager

Role Summary

Lead process integration and experimental coordination for quantum materials, device fabrication, and measurement to deliver scalable, reproducible qubit technologies. Manage a team of engineers and scientists and drive cross-functional execution across materials growth, nanofabrication, electrical characterization, and packaging.

Work with program leadership and external fabrication partners to convert research and process innovations into manufacturable device stacks.

Experience Level

Senior-level people manager. The role requires significant leadership and technical program experience; it includes responsibility for multiple concurrent integration efforts and staff development.

Responsibilities

The role owns integration strategy and program execution across materials, fabrication, and device teams.

  • Build and lead a process integration team; set technical direction, priorities, and execution plans aligned with program milestones.
  • Define and own end-to-end integration strategy across epitaxy, lithography, etch, deposition, packaging, electrical characterization, and feedback loops.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to converge on optimized process stacks and translate experimental data into engineering decisions.
  • Oversee large-scale experimental campaigns using DOE, statistical analysis, and root-cause investigations to improve yield and performance.
  • Drive development of integration infrastructure: process tracking, data pipelines, and feedback mechanisms; enable AI/automation for process optimization and analysis.
  • Manage program risks, communicate progress and tradeoffs to leadership, and align priorities across internal and external partners.

Requirements

Essential skills, experience, and eligibility for the role.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of people management experience; track record leading cross-functional technical programs.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated experience with process integration, yield improvement, and reproducible fabrication flows across multiple process modules.
  • Must-have: Experience with experimental program execution using DOE, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Must-have: Ability to meet Microsoft security and export-control screening requirements, including citizenship or permanent-resident verification where required.
  • Must-have: Ability to leverage modern AI/tools for data analysis, process modeling, and automation in hardware development.
  • Must-have: Willingness to travel as required (estimated 25–50%).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with low-temperature electrical characterization and feedback into process optimization.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience collaborating with external fabs or manufacturing partners and familiarity with scaling and variability-reduction techniques.
  • Nice-to-have: Record of technical innovation such as publications, patents, or delivered systems.

Education Requirements

Acceptable qualifications include a Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, with the role also open to candidates with equivalent practical experience. (Source provides degree-to-experience mappings and allows equivalent experience.)
