Principal Quality & Safety Engineer
Role Summary
Principal/Staff-level engineer on the Arm Global Standards and Compliance team supporting automotive SoC and Physical AI products. The role drives functional safety, automotive cybersecurity, quality, and compliance activities across development, assessment, and release.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal/Staff level). The posting targets an experienced engineer with substantial background in semiconductor or SoC development for safety-critical industries.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and operational support for safety, cybersecurity, and quality compliance across automotive, robotics, AI, and industrial SoC programs.
- Support programs from development through certification and release.
- Align engineering development practices with ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE, IEC 61508, and customer requirements.
- Drive readiness for external assessments; conduct internal audits, reviews, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and review compliance evidence, safety documentation, and assessment responses.
- Establish process improvements, training, and best practices across SoC programs.
- Collaborate across technical and organizational boundaries with engineering and business teams.
Requirements

- Proven experience in semiconductor or SoC development within safety-critical industries.
- Practical knowledge of ISO 26262 and related standards (ASPICE, IEC 61508) and how to apply them in SoC development.
- Experience supporting engineering teams in compliance, audits, assessments, and process improvement.
- Experience producing functional safety and/or cybersecurity assessment work products.
- Ability to work across technical and organizational boundaries in complex engineering environments.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Functional Safety auditor certification.
- Experience with ISO/SAE 21434 or other automotive cybersecurity compliance.
