Principal Project Manager — Project & Program Management (Engineering)

Role Summary

Lead cross-functional development teams to plan, execute, and deliver new product solutions for next-generation portable product applications within the Custom Silicon Solutions (CSS) group.

Own project planning, schedule, cost targets and delivery from project initiation through product release and volume shipment, and coordinate with internal functions and customers to achieve milestones.

Experience Level

Senior level. The role expects an experienced project/program manager; ideally 5+ years in an Engineering Project/Program Manager role with large multinational companies.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and delivery tracking.

• Ensure adequate business justification and due diligence before development begins.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, full factory cost, and total development cost targets.
• Drive execution to meet scope, cost, and schedule; maintain the project schedule and achieve key milestones (tapeout, samples, release).
• Ensure all development functions (Design, Test, Eval, Marketing, etc.) are informed of milestones, critical changes, and deliverables.
• Manage project change requests and assess their impact on schedule and cost.
• Track and record project performance in the project lifecycle/PLM system (PLE) and complete post-release reviews (AAR) as required.
• Work directly with customers: schedule and chair reviews, provide regular project updates, and travel to customer sites as needed.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes for successful performance in this role.

• Minimum: ~5+ years experience in engineering project/program management (ideally with multinational companies).
• Proven planning skills and ability to drive tasks to completion through coordination with multiple groups.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office tools for planning and reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of leading meetings and presenting status to stakeholders and customers.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, takes initiative, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 10% of the time).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Related technical degrees or equivalent industry experience are acceptable.
