Role Summary

The Principal Program Manager will plan and drive engagement with silicon partners to support Microsoft Windows & Devices roadmaps. This role partners with silicon architects, program managers, engineers, product and marketing teams to align technology, roadmaps, and business objectives.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting requires 8+ years of relevant technical or cross-functional experience (preferred: 12+ years).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Define and execute strategies for partnering with silicon companies.
• Evaluate silicon technologies and IP for roadmap fit and opportunities.
• Define business frameworks and negotiate complex commercial deals and contracts.
• Establish and run internal and partner processes, including executive rhythm of business.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with external partner organizations and drive day-to-day engagement.
• Coordinate internal teams to align roadmaps, investments, device advocacy, and sales/marketing initiatives with partners.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enable successful joint engineering efforts.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications.

• Must-have: 8+ years of relevant experience in technical domains such as hardware, silicon, PCs, systems engineering, technical sales, product management, or cross-functional engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Must-have: Proven experience driving strategic partnerships, complex business deals, and executive-level engagement.
• Must-have: Demonstrated ability to collaborate across matrixed organizations and influence cross-team alignment.
• Must-have: Strong communication skills with experience interacting with executive leadership.
• Must-have: Willingness to work approximately 3 days per week in-office and travel up to 25%.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in product management, business planning, or business development for hardware/software products (8+ years in these functions is preferred).
• Nice-to-have: 5+ years defining and executing complex strategic partnerships with large companies; experience in the semiconductor or PC businesses.

Education Requirements

Required/expected: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience. The posting pairs this with experience thresholds (typically 8+ years required; 12+ years preferred).
