Principal Product Engineer - Verification

Role Summary

Senior technical product engineer in the Verification division supporting customer evaluations, benchmarks, training, and project ramp-up for Cadence verification products. The role works closely with sales, corporate engineering, and marketing to validate solutions and inform product direction.

Experience Level

Senior — advertised minimum 10+ years of industry experience; also states minimum 8+ years of verification/prototyping experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties involve customer-facing technical activities, evaluations, and enabling product adoption.

• Work with Sales to identify and scope customer opportunities for verification products.
• Plan, execute and manage technical evaluations and benchmarking with customers.
• Train and support customer project ramp-up and accompany customer engagements.
• Deliver trainings, presentations, and product demonstrations as required.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve advanced client queries.
• Coordinate with corporate engineering and sales/marketing on customer requirements and product improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes for effective performance in the role.

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in verification, prototyping, and consumer-application design/debugging using EDA solutions.
• Hands-on experience with SoC emulation/acceleration, hybrid verification solutions; UVM, verification IPs, or transactors preferred.
• Familiarity with simulators (e.g., IES, VCS) and experience with emulators/accelerators (e.g., PXP, Zebu, Veloce).
• Strong Linux and Tcl skills (required).
• Program and engagement management skills; ability to run technical evaluations and customer projects.
• Effective team player with good interpersonal skills and willingness to learn.
• Good English communication skills and ability to work in a global customer-facing environment.
• Current passport with no travel limitations.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is stated as required.
