Principal Product Engineer - Low Power Emulation
Role Summary
Lead product engineering and customer-facing technical workstreams for low-power emulation and verification. The role focuses on power-aware modeling, emulation-based validation, and resolving power intent and RTL integration issues for SoC projects.
Work closely with global R&D and customers to deliver solutions, optimize workflows, and contribute to methodology and best-practice development.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal level). Typically a senior engineer with substantial industry experience (generally 7+ years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include driving low-power verification and supporting customer validation on emulation platforms.
- Drive low-power design and verification activities including UPF modeling, multi-voltage domain design, and power-aware simulation/emulation.
- Support customer projects for functional verification and power validation on emulation platforms.
- Analyze and debug complex issues related to power intent, RTL design, and system integration.
- Collaborate with global R&D teams to deliver and optimize technical solutions and workflows.
- Provide high-quality technical support and troubleshooting to guide customer success.
- Contribute to methodology development, knowledge sharing, and standardization of best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Experience in low-power design or verification (UPF/CPF/power-aware verification).
- Experience in RTL design or verification; SystemVerilog and UVM preferred.
- Solid understanding of SoC architecture and digital design principles.
- Knowledge of power management techniques (power domains, isolation, retention, DVFS, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex systems.
- Good English communication skills (verbal and written) for global collaboration and customer interaction.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Palladium, Protium, or other hardware emulation platforms.
- Familiarity with EDA tools and verification flows.
- Customer-facing experience (applications engineer, product engineer, or solution engineer roles).
- Tape-out experience on SoC or ASIC projects; experience in power analysis and optimization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (explicitly stated).
