Job Title
Principal Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead productization and new product introduction (NPI) for high-speed datacenter connectivity silicon within Marvell’s AI Connectivity Group. Coordinate across design, test, foundry, reliability, operations, and supply chain in a global, matrixed environment to move silicon from bring-up through mass production.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience with product engineering and NPI leadership.
Responsibilities
Deliver and scale datacenter connectivity products through silicon bring-up, validation, and production ramps.
- Lead NPI efforts: silicon bring-up, DFT validation, and development of test methodologies.
- Provide strategic direction and hands-on technical guidance to global product engineering teams; mentor engineers.
- Oversee multiple concurrent product ramps and align design, test, foundry, and reliability stakeholders.
- Drive yield characterization, root-cause analysis, and correlation across bench, wafer sort, and final test.
- Lead cross-functional reviews and resolve technical and operational issues affecting product readiness.
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering samples to support customer validation.
- Partner with operations and supply chain to scale capacity, qualify alternate sources, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Champion improvements in test infrastructure, data analytics, and product engineering best practices.
Requirements
Key technical and leadership requirements. Education requirements are listed separately below.
-
Must-have: 10+ years in the semiconductor industry with demonstrated product engineering and end-to-end NPI experience.
- Deep experience with advanced technology nodes (10nm and below), including silicon bring-up, yield optimization, and test strategy.
- Proficiency with ATE concepts and equipment (for example Advantest 93K, UltraFlex), test handlers, and wafer probers.
- Proven leadership managing cross-functional, global teams and mentoring engineers.
- Strong knowledge of yield analysis and quality tools (GR&R, Cp, Cpk) and statistical data analysis methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-directed and able to manage complex projects across distributed teams.
-
Nice-to-have: experience with PAM4 and coherent DSP technologies and large-scale multi-product ramp programs.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field (as stated in the posting).
