Role Summary

The Principal Product Engineer is the primary engineering interface for securing product requirements during New Product Introduction (NPI) and industrialization. The role ensures products meet Nexperia's quality, cost, and delivery requirements across the full product lifecycle from validation through volume production.

Experience Level

Senior level. Guidance: 5–10 years of relevant experience in semiconductor design, manufacturing, OEM environments, or technical research.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include owning technical validation and product release decisions, driving cross-functional alignment, and improving validation and manufacturing readiness.

• Act as main technical interface for product engineering topics across NPI and industrialization projects.
• Define validation scope, engineering hours, and cost estimates for product qualification.
• Review device specifications to ensure alignment with product and system requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments (FMEA) and support mitigation actions.
• Own product validation, characterization, drift analysis, and delivery of validation reports with supporting evidence.
• Ensure proper archiving of characterization, test data, and technical documentation.
• Support product qualification through all project phases and own technical content of product release decisions.
• Provide technical solutions for product issues and support cross-functional problem-solving (e.g., 8D).
• Drive continuous improvement in validation efficiency, characterization methods, and product quality.
• Collaborate with design, packaging, test, manufacturing, quality, project management, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

Essential skills and experience required for this role.

• 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor design, manufacturing, OEM environments, or technical research.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor products and electronic circuit design principles.
• Experience in cross-functional, project-driven environments and ability to support technical project management activities.
• Experience with quality and problem-solving methodologies, including practical use of 8D and FMEA.
• Experience working in global, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field. The posting also references statistical-methods/quality training such as Yellow Belt or equivalent.
