Job Title

Principal Product Application Engineer (SiC)

Role Summary

Develop and validate SiC-based power solutions, support customer design‑in, and enable product introductions. Work with global teams to translate device physics into system designs and demonstrators for power applications.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years in the semiconductor industry with a focus on power applications; wide‑bandgap experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The role includes hands-on design, validation, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration:

• Design power-electronics platforms using SiC technologies.
• Plan, run and analyze testing and validation of power systems and devices.
• Build demo systems and present technical solutions to customers.
• Support product go-to-market activities and customer design‑in.
• Create and deliver technical presentations, training, and webinars.
• Support device testing, characterization, and modelling.
• Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and academic partners.
• Work within a global, multicultural team and travel occasionally.

Requirements

Key qualifications and technical skills required or strongly preferred.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the semiconductor industry with focus on power applications.
• Strong hardware design experience for SiC, GaN, and IGBT applications.
• Experience in thermal/mechanical design, gate driving and inductance optimization.
• Skilled in measurements, testing and working in high-voltage lab environments.
• Experience with PCB design, simulation tools and power module design.
• Ability to connect device physics, converter design and customer needs.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to travel occasionally.
• Nice-to-have: wide-bandgap (WBG) experience preferred; experience with university or partner collaborations.

Education Requirements

M.Sc. degree or higher in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a similar field is required.
