Principal Physical Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead backend physical design for MCU/MPU products targeting consumer, industrial and IoT markets. Work as part of a global engineering team to improve quality, performance, and cost using advanced EDA tools and AI-assisted methodologies.
This role focuses on delivering manufacturable, cost-effective layouts and verification for next-generation embedded products.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform layout (PnR) tasks: floorplanning, hierarchical design, power planning, and analog routing.
- Execute layout verification and signoff (PV) using industry tools.
- Develop and refine physical-design flows and methodologies, including EDA and AI tool adoption.
- Manage design projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams and external design partners.
- Ensure designs meet performance, power, area, and manufacturability targets.
Requirements
Must-have and nice-to-have qualifications:
- Must-have: Practical knowledge and experience in layout design and layout verification workflows.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with LSI physical-design EDA tools (examples: Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens; e.g., ICC2, FusionCompiler-BE, Innovus, Calibre, Pegasus, Voltus).
- Nice-to-have: Experience managing design teams and overseeing external design partners.
