Work on simulation motifs, tooling for performance analysis and visualization, and collaborate with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers.

This position is designated Remote/Teleworker and is primarily work-from-home.

Experience Level

Senior β€” principal-level engineer. The posting specifies 10+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building and executing realistic network simulations and producing actionable analysis for architecture and design decisions.

  • Develop and maintain simulation models for NICs, switches, and system architectures.
  • Design and implement simulation motifs and scenarios that reflect realistic network behavior.
  • Create tools and visualizations for performance analysis and reporting.
  • Evaluate performance, scalability, and fault-tolerance of proposed architectures.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reliable, maintainable simulation code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise list of the core qualifications.

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in network/system simulation or architecture analysis.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and system-level design.
  • Proficiency in simulation/modeling in C++ and data analysis scripting in Python.
  • Experience analyzing architectural trade-offs and optimizing designs for performance and scalability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Good software engineering practices: version control, testing, and performance profiling.

Nice-to-have:

  • Background with NICs, switches, or ASIC design flows.
  • Experience building visualization tools for performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with fault-tolerance and reliability analysis methods.

Education Requirements
