Principal Network Simulation Engineer - VLSI
Role Summary
Develop and maintain system-level simulation models and analysis tools to evaluate NICs, switches, and future system architectures. Work closely with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers to inform architectural decisions.
Deliver accurate C++ simulation models, Python analysis workflows, and visualization to assess performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 10+ years of relevant experience in network/system simulation, architecture evaluation, or related fields.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement simulation models for NICs, switches, and system architectures.
- Create simulation motifs and scenarios to generate realistic network behavior.
- Develop tools for performance analysis, automation, and visualization.
- Evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance; analyze architectural trade-offs and optimization strategies.
- Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reliable, maintainable simulations.
- Collaborate with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:

Must-have: 10+ years' experience in network or system-level simulation, architecture analysis, or related engineering roles.
