Design and implement system-level network simulation models and motifs for NICs, switches, and future system architectures to evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. Work on tools for performance analysis and visualization and collaborate with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers to inform architectural trade-offs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building and running realistic network simulations and producing actionable analysis for architecture and design teams.

• Develop detailed simulation models for NICs, switches, and system architectures.
• Design and implement simulation motifs and scenarios to reflect realistic network workloads.
• Create tools for performance analysis, data collection, and visualization.
• Evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of proposed architectures.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reliable, maintainable simulations.
• Collaborate with network architects, ASIC/ASIC-design teams, and software engineers to validate architectural decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience (network/system simulation, architecture, or similar).
• Proven experience developing simulation models and frameworks (C++ for modeling).
• Proficiency in data analysis and scripting (Python) for results processing and visualization.
• Strong understanding of network architecture and system-level design.
• Experience analyzing architectural trade-offs and optimizing performance and scalability.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings to architects and engineers.
• Familiarity with software engineering practices: version control, testing, and reproducible experiments.
• Nice-to-have: experience with large-scale/distributed simulations, visualization frameworks, or prior work with NIC/switch design pipelines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
