Role Summary
Lead development of network-level simulation models and tooling to evaluate performance, scalability, and resilience of NICs, switches, and system architectures. Partner with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers to inform architecture and design decisions through simulation-driven analysis.

Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain simulation models and analyses that guide hardware and system architecture decisions.
- Develop and maintain simulation models for NICs, switches, and system-level network architectures.
- Design and implement simulation scenarios and motifs representing realistic network workloads.
- Create tools for performance analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance and identify architectural trade-offs.
- Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reproducible and reliable simulation outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers.
Requirements

- Proven experience building simulation models and frameworks using C++.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python.
- Deep understanding of network architecture and system-level design.
- Experience analyzing architectural trade-offs and applying optimization strategies.
- Experience evaluating performance, scalability, and fault tolerance in complex systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
- Familiarity with software engineering practices: version control, testing, and reproducible workflows.
Nice to have:
- Experience developing visualization tools or dashboards for performance analysis.
- Experience working with ASIC/firmware teams or on NIC/switch development stacks.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation & Benefits
United States annual base salary range stated by the employer: USD 153,000 - 352,500 (varies by state; higher minimum listed for California). Benefits include health and wellbeing programs and professional development support.
