Role Summary
Develop and maintain cycle-accurate and system-level simulation models for NICs, switches, and future system architectures to evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. Build analysis and visualization tools and collaborate closely with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers to drive architecture decisions.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing simulation experiments, implementing models, and producing data-driven analysis to guide architecture choices.
- Develop simulation models for NICs, switches, and system architectures.
- Design and implement simulation motifs that create realistic network scenarios.
- Create tools for performance analysis and visualization of simulation results.
- Evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of proposed architectures.
- Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reliable and maintainable simulation code.
- Collaborate with network architects, ASIC designers, and software teams to validate designs and trade-offs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong understanding of network architecture and system-level design.
- Proficiency in simulation/modeling using C++ and data analysis using Python.
- Experience analyzing architectural trade-offs and optimization strategies.
- Track record of working effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience applying software engineering practices (version control, testing, performance profiling).
- Nice-to-have: prior experience with NIC or switch architecture, high-performance computing, or ASIC design collaboration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
