Principal Network Simulation Engineer - VLSI

Role Summary

Lead development of simulation models and tooling to evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of NICs, switches, and future system network architectures. Work on system-level modeling, performance analysis, and visualization to inform architecture and ASIC decisions.

This is a remote/teleworker position collaborating with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineering teams.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain simulation models for NICs, switches, and system architectures.
• Design and implement simulation motifs and scenarios that reflect realistic network behavior.
• Create tools for performance analysis and visualization of simulation results.
• Evaluate performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of proposed architectures and configurations.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reliable, maintainable simulation code and reproducible results.
• Collaborate with network architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers to validate design trade-offs.

Requirements

• Nice-to-have: Prior experience with NIC/switch performance modeling, large-scale simulation tooling, or visualization libraries.

Education Requirements
