Job Title

Principal/MTS, Analog Design Engineering

Role Summary

Senior analog designer in Micron's DRAM IP Design team responsible for designing, optimizing, and delivering block-level analog and mixed-signal circuits from concept through silicon. Work involves collaboration with verification, layout, product, and data science teams to improve circuit performance, quality, and yield.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 12+ years of semiconductor analog/mixed-signal design experience as indicated by the minimum qualifications; alternative preferred paths reference 15+ years for certain degree backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and cross-functional collaboration:

  • Design, optimize, and verify block-level analog and mixed-signal circuits for DRAM projects.
  • Work with internal data science and EDA vendors to apply AI-assisted design flows and circuit optimization.
  • Propose, evaluate, and implement new or improved circuit topologies to enhance power, performance, area, and cost (PPAC).
  • Improve verification scope and coverage to increase robustness and production yield.
  • Provide layout guidance through post-layout simulation and support silicon vs. simulation correlation activities.
  • Mentor and coach junior circuit designers and define solutions independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education summarized separately below):

  • 12+ years of semiconductor design experience (per minimum qualifications).
  • Solid analog circuit design fundamentals; experience with regulators, charge pumps, oscillators, current references, bandgaps, or comparators.
  • Proficiency with SPICE and Verilog modeling and simulation.
  • Ability to supervise analog physical layout work and provide layout guidance.
  • Proven experience collaborating with technical and non-technical teams; demonstrated mentoring of junior engineers.
  • Preferred: prior DRAM circuit design experience and 5+ years of circuit debugging with cross-functional teams; good understanding of device physics and CMOS process technologies.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Preferred: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with equivalent experience; the posting also notes BSEE candidates with additional years of experience (e.g., BSEE + 15 years) as an accepted path.
