Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development of ADC, DAC and/or SerDes PHY subsystems for high-performance mixed-signal SoC products using FinFET technologies. You will own architecture selection, transistor-level circuit design, and drive implementation through layout, verification, and qualification.
Member of the Advanced Cores Group (ACG); role includes technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination to deliver commercial mixed-signal IP subsystems.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience (commercial product development).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Define and select mixed-signal subsystem implementation architectures for ADC/DAC and SerDes PHY subsystems.
- Design transistor-level mixed-signal integrated circuits meeting performance and specification targets.
- Prepare design documentation and lead design reviews.
- Lead subsystem development from design through verification, layout guidance, evaluation, test and qualification.
- Mentor and guide other mixed-signal design engineers.
- Provide direction for mixed-signal layout and lab evaluation/test activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience for commercial applications.
- Deep understanding of data converter architectures and/or SerDes PHY architectures and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of mixed-signal design fundamentals, tools, and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of IC product development lifecycle: design, verification, evaluation, test, and qualification.
- Proven track record of delivering challenging mixed-signal ICs and providing technical leadership.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills; experience mentoring engineers.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering (stated requirement).
