Job Title
Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development of high-speed data converters within ADI's Advanced Cores Group. Responsible for architecture selection, transistor-level circuit design, and coordination with layout, evaluation, and test teams to deliver converter IP for SoC products.
Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive complex analog/mixed-signal design efforts from concept through silicon validation.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 10+ years of CMOS design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead circuit development and evaluate/select converter architectures (pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, current-steering DAC).
- Design challenging transistor-level analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Prepare clear design documentation and conduct technical design reviews.
- Guide and coordinate layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams during implementation and bring-up.
- Mentor and develop other design engineers; provide technical leadership on projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate converter cores into SoC products and ensure performance targets are met.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years of CMOS design experience.
- Proven experience in high-speed data converter design (pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, or current-steering DAC).
- Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience designing wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, or LDOs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in large teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Signal-processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms.
- Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
Education Requirements
M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering.
