Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer in the Advanced Cores Group, you will lead development of ADC, DAC, and/or SerDes PHY subsystems for SoC products using FinFET technologies. The role focuses on architecture selection, transistor-level mixed-signal circuit design, layout guidance, and evaluation for high-performance commercial products.
You will mentor engineers and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver production-ready mixed-signal subsystems.
Experience Level
Senior-level - requires 10+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership across mixed-signal subsystem development and hands-on circuit work:
- Develop and select mixed-signal subsystem architectures for ADC, DAC, or SerDes PHY.
- Design transistor-level mixed-signal integrated circuits.
- Create design documentation and present at design reviews.
- Lead subsystem development efforts and mentor design engineers.
- Guide layout, evaluation, and test of mixed-signal ICs.
- Collaborate with verification, evaluation, and qualification teams for product development.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development for commercial applications.
- Deep understanding of data converter and/or SerDes PHY architectures and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of mixed-signal design fundamentals, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience with integrated circuit product development lifecycle: design, verification, evaluation, test, and qualification.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with FinFET process technologies.
- Record of presentations or publications at technical conferences or journals.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering.
