Job Title
Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development of high-speed data converter IP within the Advanced Cores Group. The role drives circuit-architecture selection, transistor-level design, and coordinates layout, evaluation, and test to deliver production-ready converter cores.
Expect to mentor engineers, run design reviews, and collaborate with layout, test, and cross-functional teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level; requires 14+ years of CMOS design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead circuit development and evaluate/select converter architectures.
- Design challenging transistor-level circuits for data converters.
- Prepare design documentation and lead technical design reviews.
- Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through development and characterization.
- Mentor and train other design engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Coordinate with system, firmware, and test groups to ensure deliverable quality.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 14+ years' CMOS design experience with a focus on high-speed data converters (pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, current-steering DAC).
- Strong transistor-level circuit design skills (wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, LDOs).
- Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
- Proven ability to lead projects, run design reviews, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
