Job Title
Principal Mixed-Signal/Analog Design Engineer - Power/ATE
Role Summary
Design high-performance mixed-signal ICs and companion DC/DC converters for ATE power management within the Instrumentation group. Lead architecture, circuit design, verification, layout supervision, lab characterization, and cross-functional integration through production release.
Experience Level
Senior β requires approximately 10+ years of relevant mixed-signal/analog IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define system architecture, specify circuit blocks, and perform system-level analysis.
- Design, simulate, and verify analog/mixed-signal circuits (highly linear amplifiers, bias blocks, switches, DFX, digital I/O, LDOs, ADCs, DACs).
- Lead designs from concept through production release; optimize for power, performance, and area.
- Supervise layout teams, run post-layout simulations, and validate extracted results.
- Perform lab evaluation, characterization, and debug; provide test development guidance to evaluation/ATE teams.
- Collaborate with digital design and verification teams for block and system-level integration.
- Prepare design documentation, conduct reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (education summarized separately):
- Approximately 10+ years of relevant industry experience in mixed-signal/analog IC design.
- Deep transistor-level analog/mixed-signal design and circuit analysis skills for CMOS technologies.
- Proven experience with highly linear amplifiers, bias networks, switches, LDOs, ADCs, DACs, and digital I/O.
- Extensive experience using Cadence design, simulation, layout, and verification tools for analog and mixed-signal designs.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and model limitations, including high-frequency and temperature effects.
- Hands-on lab experience characterizing and debugging mixed-signal ICs and familiarity with test/ATE considerations.
- Good intuition for package and layout parasitics and experience with extracted simulations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver products to market and provide technical leadership across disciplines.
- Clear written and verbal communication and effective cross-functional teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Analog/digital behavioral modeling and digital control block synthesis experience.
- High-voltage design experience and multi-die/SiP laminate expertise.
- Prior team or project leadership experience.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent; posting allows equivalent practical experience. Fields: Electrical Engineering or closely related technical fields.
