Principal Memory PHY Architect — Power Modeling
Role Summary
Lead architecture and power-modeling efforts for memory PHY IP to deliver power-efficient, production-ready silicon subsystems. Work within a cross-functional engineering organization to define architecture, drive power models, and support IP integration and validation.
Responsible for mentoring engineers, coordinating with product and customer teams, and taking ownership of project outcomes.
Experience Level
Senior — 15+ years of relevant engineering experience in memory PHY architecture and power modeling.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Design and develop power-efficient memory PHY architectures.
- Create, validate, and optimize power models for memory subsystems.
- Perform power analysis using industry tools and refine architectures to meet product goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, customers) to align requirements and integration.
- Mentor and guide engineers on best practices for power-aware PHY design.
- Evaluate new technologies and architectural improvements for IP scalability and performance.
- Support IP integration, validation, and delivery activities.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in memory PHY architecture and power modeling.
- Proven track record of driving efficient power models and delivering project outcomes.
- Experience with power analysis/simulation tools such as Power Artist and PTPX.
- Strong digital and/or analog design skills and strong analytical ability.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with large cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience influencing product direction and shaping scalable architectures for silicon IP.
Education Requirements
BSEE or MSEE (Electrical Engineering) required.
