Principal IP Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification engineering for IP products across Enterprise, Automotive and Client markets. Own verification architecture, delivery quality for releases, and lead a team that builds testbenches, test suites and verification strategies.

Responsibilities

Accountable for functional verification delivery and for aligning DV teams to a coherent verification architecture.

  • Define and maintain verification architecture and strategy for IP/subsystem releases.
  • Write and review test plans and verification methodologies.
  • Implement testbenches and develop testcases to meet functional and coverage goals.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design and verification teams to review microarchitectural specifications and debug issues.
  • Lead and mentor verification engineers; coordinate cross-team verification activities.
  • Develop IP features that support reconfigurable designs and enable downstream reuse.
  • Act as a primary stakeholder to ensure chosen solutions are adopted and maintained across teams.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proven experience across verification stages: requirements collection, test plan creation, testbench implementation, test case development, documentation and support.
  • Hands-on with front-end and simulation/debug tools (examples: Questa, VCS, JasperGold, Verdi) and power/UPF flows.
  • Experience with coverage-driven verification (functional, toggle, code coverage).
  • Experience with reconfigurable IP or subsystem verification and SoC-level integration/debug.
  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Object-oriented programming concepts and scripting (Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ARM-based designs and system architectures.
  • Knowledge of OTP/fuse models, JTAG/TAP, SoC system debug, and DFT methodologies (RTL testability, scan insertion, OCC).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
