Principal IC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join an R&D team developing networking switch and network controller IP (NETC) used in NXP microcontrollers, processors, and switches. The role is focused on architecting and executing verification for Ethernet/networking IP and SoC integration, ensuring timely delivery and high quality for automotive, industrial, and edge products.

Senior β 10+ years experience in IP and SoC design verification.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification architecture, implementation, and delivery of Ethernet/networking IP and SoC products.
- Architect, design, implement, and verify Ethernet/networking IP for next-generation SoCs.
- Lead UVM/SystemVerilog verification for IP and SoC products.
- Plan and execute verification activities with architecture, design, and verification teams.
- Develop directed and constrained-random tests and verification environments.
- Debug failures, identify root causes, and coordinate fixes with designers.
- Analyze functional and code coverage; modify or add tests to meet coverage goals.
- Perform trade-off analysis on performance versus implementation complexity.
- Produce clear technical documentation for functional and implementation specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement in verification methodology and flows.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 10+ years of experience with IP and SoC products (verification focus).
- Expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM verification methodology.
- Strong experience with EDA tools and scripting (Python, TCL, Perl, Makefile, Shell) for verification flows.
- Proven experience architecting and implementing verification infrastructure and executing full verification cycles.
- Experience with revision control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of hardware vs software implementation trade-offs.
- Algorithm development experience and strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication; strong documentation skills; collaborative team player.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with formal methods and functional safety verification.
- Knowledge of modern networking technologies and TCP/IP protocols.
- Experience with networking products (routers, bridges, switches).
- Security and cryptography experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Computer Engineering), or a related technical field is specified.
