Principal Field Application Engineer - BLE
Role Summary
Support design‑in and drive design wins for NXP automotive BLE products and connectivity solutions focused on Smart Car Access. The role combines hands‑on lab work, customer engagement with Tier‑1/OEM teams, and cross‑functional collaboration with sales and R&D to resolve technical issues from pre‑sales through production readiness.

Responsibilities
Provide technical field support to automotive customers and internal teams to enable successful product integration and production readiness.
- Deliver field technical support for automotive BLE products/solutions to assigned China Tier‑1s and OEMs, coordinating with product specialists and application support.
- Demonstrate products and propose customized solutions; capture customer feedback to influence product line roadmap.
- Establish and maintain engineering contacts at customers; track design‑in progress and provide regular status updates.
- Debug customer issues in lab and field; suggest patches or workarounds for blocking problems and support critical bug fixes and system bring‑up.
- Conduct SCH/PCB layout reviews to identify signal integrity, low‑power, and BLE stack/profile risks.
- Create technical collateral: application notes, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
- Train internal DFAEs/DAEs and customer engineers to enable independent issue resolution and accelerate projects.

Must-have: More than 3 years' experience in embedded systems development with strong familiarity with communication interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C, CAN/CAN‑FD, LIN).

Must-have: Strong understanding of ARM Cortex‑M architecture (exception handling, secure boot, low‑power modes) and solid embedded software debugging skills.

Must-have: Practical experience with RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, Linux) and use of standard lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Must-have: Strong understanding of BLE protocol, ability to interpret BLE core specifications, and experience with BLE protocol analyzers (e.g., Frontline, Ellisys).

Must-have: Basic RF and hardware troubleshooting capabilities; ability to perform PCB/SCH reviews relevant to BLE implementations.

Must-have: Good spoken and written English; competent documentation and reporting skills.

Nice-to-have: Experience with productivity/development tools (VS Code, Git, Confluence, JIRA, AI tools).
