Principal Field Application Engineer - Automotive MCU

Role Summary

Serve as the primary on-site technical interface for automotive customers, providing hands-on support for battery management system (BMS) applications across MCU-centric and AFE systems. Work includes system-level integration, debugging, validation, and extended customer engagement at customer sites.

Support customer projects from development through early production and coordinate issue resolution with internal engineering and product teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 5–8 years of relevant experience in automotive electronics, embedded systems, or customer-facing technical roles.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on on-site customer support, system integration, and technical problem resolution.

  • Provide frequent and extended on-site technical support; act as the main technical contact for automotive customers.
  • Support system-level integration of Automotive MCUs, PMICs, In-Vehicle Networking (CAN/LIN/FlexRay/Ethernet), and AFE components.
  • Assist with hardware bring-up, software integration, debugging, and validation activities.
  • Diagnose complex hardware, software, and system-level issues; drive resolution by coordinating with AE, R&D, and product teams.
  • Support customer projects during development, debugging, and early production phases.
  • Deliver technical training, hands-on guidance, and best practices to customer engineering teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

  • 5–8 years' experience in automotive electronics, embedded systems, or customer-facing technical roles; experience with BMS applications preferred.
  • Broad system knowledge of MCU, power devices, networking, and mixed-signal components.
  • Familiarity with embedded software stacks, device drivers, BSPs, and debugging tools.
  • Strong customer-facing and troubleshooting skills; able to perform under on-site technical pressure.
  • Willingness to stay at customer locations for extended periods when required.
  • Good spoken and written English for daily technical communication.
